| | Not about the website, phew eh?
I had far too much in my sack, but I really didn't trust the weather forecast, or my ability to get round in daylight and without referring to the maps, or that I wouldn't get injured.....so in my sack I had wet top, wet legs, spare helly, lightweight fleece, helly balaclava, fleece mitts, spare liner gloves, spare gloves, headtorch, both maps ready folded and in waterproof cases (I know, they're not heavy, but two ready folded maps are bulky). Then there was the walking pole for the nasty downs, camera for the views, GPS, phone, cash for the pub stop, first aid, swiss army knife, compass, magnifying glass, LDWA cards, ibuprofen, paracetamol, wine gums, savlon, drink, glucose powder and mug. Needless to say, I didn't open my sack from start to finish. I didn't use the pole, only took two pictures, didn't use the mug and was too early for the pub. I did use the compass, drink, glucose, GPS, ibuprofen and wine gums so, theoretically, that's all I needed to carry. Have I learnt my lesson? Nope, there are two may whatifs. |
